WMI WRITER error issue

We are using Symantec Backup Exec 11.0 d for doing backups and for the last two weeks , we are getting job failed status with  following message :

AOFO: Initialization failure on: "\\EXCHANGE\Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
Snapshot provider error (0xE000FED1): A failure occurred querying the Writer status.

Check the Windows Event Viewer for details.

Writer Name: Windows Management Instrumentation, Writer ID: {A6AD56C2-B509-4E6C-BB19-49D8F43532F0}, Last error: The VSS Writer failed, but the operation can be retried (0x800423f3), State: Failed during freeze operation (9).

This is for our MS Exchange Server 2003 and when I run VSSADMIN LIST WRITERS command,
I get the 'RETRYABLE ERROR ' message for WMI WRITER  with state 'FAILED'. However, rest all of the writers show state 'STABLE' a nd 'NO ERROR'
We have all recent updates and have also installed 'KB943460' to fix VSS snap shot issues.

Also, I checked Even Viewer on Exchange  and I am getting application log of information type :
Event ID : 907  Source : ESE BACKUP
Information Store [852] Backup data transfer method is shared memory [64kb].
This message has stared showing up for the last ten days.
I have already rebooted Exchange twice and Media Server as well.

Do you mean you installed KB940349? If not, do install it. KB943460 seems to be unrelated.

Try backing up WMI as described in http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/872a660b-391b-486c-a0a8-daa6acfa0aaa1033.mspx?mfr=true - does this work?

Try rebuilding the WMI database as per part 3 of http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/276742.htm

I am sorry ! I did install KB940349 and NOT KB943460.
