How do I see a website as a visitor from another country would see it?

I have a banner ad running on an international website. They are meant to show different versions of the banner to visitors from different countries. Is there any way for me to make their server think I am visiting from different countries so that I get to see my banner as a local visitor would.

What kind of check are you running to see what country the visitor is from?

I assume they are going by IP numbers.

I don't really see an easy way to do this then.  You would need to somehow spoof an IP address to make it appear as though you were coming from a different country, and spoofing IPs is difficult and legally questionable. Another option would be to try and find some sort of circumventor/proxy site, like ones used to get around filtering software, from each country you are testing this for.  Even if you could figure out what country those tunneling sites are in, there's no guarantee that they aren't going through another proxy site somewhere outside of their own country.

Thanks for the ideas, I found a proxy site and searched for the banner on the site. I clicked and clicked, but the banner did not appear. Could the proxy site be blocking banners?

It is possible, or it could be that the banner on the site uses code that the proxy site can't translate and therefore can't show.  Have you tried this using other proxy sites, to see if it's a universal issue or if the issue is just related to that particular proxy site?

I tried a good few sites, but they all seem to be running the same kind of softward, so it was the same from each.

Thanks for all your help
