When in Print Layout View cannot see the page numbers in a document.  Instead at the end of the page there is a SOLID black line.  If you click on View Header/Footer then you can see the page numbers but they are not showing up initially.  Very strange.

is it like that in 100%zoom view?

if header and footer is not active, it is being grayed out. maybe the monitor is not able to view it because of the zoom level.

also, try to change the font if it still the same.

problem is still intermittent and does not seem to be related to screen resolution or monitor settings.
