Synchronising problems between Blackberry and Blackberry Desktop Manager

We have been having this problem for a while now, and RIM don't seem to be giving much help on this subject.  When we are connecting a blackberry to a laptop to synchronise contacts, addressbook etc from Microsoft Outlook, the Intelesync program crashes and you are then unable to reconnect to the software to continue with the syncronisation.  At the moment we are using a crude work around for this problem, all we do at the moment is reset all the syncronise items and then turn these items back on to the synchronise list.  This seems to do the trick but only for a limited time and then we are back to square one again.  I have also tried updating the software to the latest version but this still hasn't made any difference.

Did you do a complete uninstall of the desktop manager and then reinstall the software?
Do you receive an error message?

Do you use a Blackberry Enterprise Server?

Hi,
I completely reinstalled the desktop manager and replaced it with the current version of the software.  We are not currently using Enterprise Server, just the bog standard blackberry service.  The error message that we receive when this error occurs is a windows application failure message, stating "that the desktop manager has occured a problem and needs to close".  I have the debug error signature if this is any help:  AppName:desktopmgr.exe AppVer: 4.2.2.14 ModName: ilxolk.fil ModVer 5.5.1.246 Offset:00060c03
Hi,
Thanks for the link, I am currently working through the work arounds to see if this makes any difference.
if you are running Windows Vista, there is a big issue with desktop redirector and synchronization.  any other Windows OS, the latest patches and updates has fixed the issue for me.  Once you install, make sure no registry entry exists for Blackberry.

Be extra careful with Registry.  Make sure you backup before modifying any registry changes.

Blackberry is know to leave many components behind regardless of proper uninstallation.  This can cause problems with version conflicts and improper operation of the application.
Sorry...CORRECTION

Once you uninstall, make sure no registry entry exists for Blackberry
I would like to close the following question and request to have my points refunded.
This question has not been answerd and I have since found a workaround.
Can you give us the workaround?
