Exchange HTTP Virtual Server Instance resource failed

Exchange environment

Backend: Exchange 2003 Enterprise server SP2 (2-node cluster)

Front-end: 2 nos Exchange 2003 Enterprise server SP2

OS: Windows Server 2003 SP1

Backup software: CA BrightStor Backup Agent version 11.5

 

Type of  backup: Full Database backup + Documentation level backup

 

 

Issue

---------

Since 2 days we are observing that while exchange backup in in progress the store.exe is utilizing more CPU (the store.exe usage is fluctuating from 24% to 85%)

 

The total CPU utilization is fluctuating from 35% to 95%

 

Once the backup is complets the Exchange HTTP Virtual Server Instance failes and comes online immediately

Your Antivirus might be a culprit.
Disable any of your antivirus software during the backup and see if that helps.  If that helps, then you will need to exclude the store.exe and the exchange folders from virus scanning.

ok.  Then let us take your backup software out for a while.
Meaning... run a backup using Native Windows Backup Utility (NT Backup) and find out if you still have the problem.

We have opened a case with Microsoft as per there suggestion we have updated the storport drivers for both the nodes, http://support.microsoft.com/?id=934878 registry changes for HTTP Parameters. Stopped brick level backup.

We have collected poolmon, preflogs, user dump for store.exe, adplus logs to analysis this issue
