Experts,

I have created a little movies which expands a circle shape, starting at 10x10 pixels to 100x100 pixels.  This works fine however its expands right.  I would like it to expand out, not grow right-ways.

Please help!

Seems like you have set registration point of your movieClip as top_left.

anyway, now you need to do the follwoing:

1.
go inside the movieClip,

2.
Press CTRL+A, select all

3.
Press CTRL+K, align dialog will open up, click "Align horizontal center" and then click "Align vertical center"

4.
Now test your FLA, press CTRL+ENTER to compile,

5.
now is should expand out.

Thanks for that.

One more question - Now that I have my animatation, I would like to use it as a symbol, so that I can play it with an action, behind another object.

Do I simply click on the first frame and then select convert to symbol? or do I have to ensure that the full animation is converted?

thanks again

you need to ensure the full animation is converted.

select all layers and frames which contain animation,. right click, and press "Copy frames"
now press 'F8', create a new symbol, click on first frame of new symbol, right click, and press "Past frames"

all copied frames should be pasted in the new symbol,
now this symbol have the complete animation and you can use it as required, just need to drag an instance from library to stage..
