Reminders/appointments don't work/trigger/sound/go off anymore

Hello, this is the same problem but really unresolved problem of Posae
https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/22624690/Treo-700w-Reminders-not-working.html?sfQueryTermInfo=1+remind+work

In short:
appointments/reminders on the calender do not go off as supposed to. They just don't trigger- no messages, no lights, no sounds.
They used to before. I'm not sure when.
It's not well documented, but many people have cited complaints for this problem online.
My settings are the same as Posae has it.
If I set up the alarm, it would work properly; but the appointments won't.
Speakers are on full volume.
When appointments are to be triggered, the calender shows a "bell" symbol on the appointment. After the time passed the appointment, the bell disappears, but there is no trigger.
Hard resetting the device fixes the problem, but it comes back after a while.

With the last symptom, it's just not worth it to keep resetting knowing it's going to come back.

Possibility:
the appointments are over-flowing; they don't get cleaned up, and OS stops adding any more appointments.

I want a real solution to the problem not a temp fix.

Do you install any programs that modify the Notification Queue ?

Not that I know of.  I'm thinking of maybe hard resetting it, and installing just the programs I use often and we'll see if there's any problem.

If there is a way to debug this problem without formatting,  please help.  Otherwise, I'll go with the formatting.
Can you list the programs you have installed on your phone?
That was extremely quick! Thanks.

It's only a PDA, with Wifi.

Software:
The usual MS products: Excel, Word, Outlook (calender, tasks, email)
E-sword
Wordbook- Englsh dictionary- recently got messed up!!!!
Wordpicker-  Englsh dictionary, messed up too (doesn't start)
Paragon Software  SlovoEd 2005- Englsh dictionary, messed up too (doesn't start)
Paragon Software SlovoEd Engine
NoteNote Mobile- no longer works, I don't know how it got there, it wasn't there before
Pocket MSN-  works, I don't know how it got there, it wasn't there before
Microsoft SQLCE 2.0

I recently took out:
Paragon Software SlovoEd Engine - Englsh dictionary
NoteNote Mobile

Thanks.
I would remove the unneeded software, soft reset and try again.
If you go with the hard reset i reccomend installing the software to a Storage Card so you dont have to reinstall all the time.
Also worth mentioning:

sometimes the appointments trigger like twice per month. I'm like "finally, now you do it". But the next day they stop triggering.
How annoying.

"i reccomend installing the software to a Storage Card so you dont have to reinstall all the time."

Do you think the programs would run much slower if I did that? Perhaps for debugging purposes I'd do it, like this.

I'm taking out the unneeded software right now.
the lag  wont be noticable

The removed software and reset didn't do anything. Since, I'm at school, I can't use my PC to remove extra software.

Thanks. I'm reading the post now.

"the lag  wont be noticable"
< Ok.
YESSSSS. It works. I had this problem for like a year and had to use my cell phone.

I did these steps:
2. Run CLOCKNOT.EXE in \windows (hidden ROM file) - this will resync the clock with the CPU.

3. Run CALNOT.EXE in \windows (hidden ROM file) - this resync the calendar (and notification database) with the clock.

and waited a bit.

I have yet to install that program to make it stop doing this. Thanks.
Mikal613 was nice and fast.
great
No wonder I couldn't find the solution online: the search results don't respond well if you use the keyword "appointments"
Anyhow, thanks a lot.
