IIS subauthenticator is not configured correctly?

Hi,

I have a Windows 2003 server hosting a few sites.
The event log has the following error repeating over and over.

"The registry key for IIS subauthenticator is not configured correctly on local machine, the anonymous password sync feature is disabled."

Google seems to be no help though.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Dan

These entries can basically be disregarded unless you know you need IIS SubAuthentication for a specific purpose.

If you *do* need it you have to run through the following steps to get it to work properly:

-Register Iissuba.dll by opening the command prompt and typing
     rundll32 %windir%\system32\iissuba.dll,RegisterIISSUBA.
-Run all worker processes using Anonymous authentication as LocalSystem.
-Set the metabase property AnonymousPasswordSynch to TRUE.

In general there is no need for this with IIS 6.0 but is ther efor backwards compatibility if required.
