We have CentOs 4.5 + sendmail 8.13.1 + MailScanner + clamAV that works just fine for the past 3 months, yesterday we noticed that customers &nbsp;are not receiving e-mail's. we found taht MailScanner couldn't start with this error:<br />

MailScanner daemon is no starting

The variety of Linux distributions creates myriad issues relating to configuration and operations when computers are networked, not the least of which is the use of various network management applications, some of which are included with specific distributions, while others are standalone applications.

Linux Networking

Within Internet message handling services (MHS), a message transfer agent or mail transfer agent (MTA) or mail relay is software that transfers electronic mail messages from one computer to another using a client–server application architecture.
