asked on
problem with authentication and adding a new user in computer
Hello guys,
I have a network windows 2000 server.
We have some station windows 2000 and XP professional
In my computer (windows XP professional) I am trying to add
a new user the steps:
Controle panel
user account
add
user name
domain
default user
after clicking the button conclude, I got the folling
message:
User cannot be add because it generates the following error:
fail in trust relation between the work station and primary domain
How to solve this?
Another problem that I am having it is that my computer and other
computers are losing the authentication in the server.

Sorry for the typo: synchronisation!
See https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/22978705/Trust-DNS-problem-between-2-domains.html for setting up time synchronisation.

Hi,
Must I run this command line in my server?
w32tm /config "/manualpeerlist:ntp2b.mcc .ac.uk,0x8 ntp.cis.strath.ac.uk,0x8 132.146.236.132,0x8" /syncfromflags:manual
thanks

w32tm /config "/manualpeerlist:ntp2b.mcc

The addresses listed are good public NTP servers in the UK. You need to run this command (or an adapted version) on your AD forest first domain tree PDC server.
