Questions about Windows Server CALs

I'm curious about what our servers actually require in CAL's.  For example;

We have a document server that everybody accesses so I would assume we'd need a suitable number of CALs.  However, we have a web server that's accessed by outside people of course but only directly accessed by no more than 5 people.  Would this mean I only need say, 5 cals for this box instead of one for everybody?

Thanks!

You don't need to purchase licenses for users connecting to the web server.

I'm sorry, here was my basis for that answer: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/sam/lic_cal.mspx

CAL's are needed when internal users (or, users affiliated with your domain) are utilizing resources on a Microsoft server.
