Cartesian/Quadratic Fisheye

Hi all,

For a project i'm doing I am extending a piece of software and implementing a fisheye affect to a grid.

I can find algorithms for normal grids but i need the focus points width and height or each cell to continue to the top and left etc.  Because other wise the user can't tell the cell numbers for the focus points!

I have found the effect i want in this paper http://www.cs.wisc.edu/graphics/Papers/Gleicher/fisheye-retarget.pdf yet no algorithm.  At the bottom their are graphical examples of the different effects discussed in the paper and the one i am after is the last one:  Cartesian/Quadratic.

Any help on hunting down algorithm?

Peace
James

As the authors are academics, so they'll doubtless let you use the code that produced the images in their paper [I  and my colleagues at Oxford would].  And they'll also provide you with references that explain the algorithm they used/designed.

Thanks.  I don't know why I hadn't thought of that!
