Word: connecting to printer
when opening a word document from a network drive from one particular machine, in the document takes for ever to open and in the botttom left hand corner says connecting to printer ?
Is it trying to connect to an old printer share or connect to a currently unavailable network/local printer?
Hi p-henderson,
Heres a couple things to try ...
1. Make sure you have a default printer selected.
2. open the file directly from Word - File > Open
3. Copy the file locally and open in directly from Word.
4. The document may have an attached template that you may not have. If this is the case - check out this link ... http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;830561&spid=2530&sid=36
Hope this helps

Try running a repair on Word/Office, should reinstall this for you if you select the restore defaults option
