Remote Procedure call failed when RDPing to a Windows 2003 Server

Hi guys!
Hope you can help.
We are having a strange issue with a Windows 2003 Server whereby, every now and then, we cannot remote desktop to a server because the RPC failed.
Also, when I run gpresult, it just returns nothing, as if its still trying to collect information, but never returns.
Any help greatly appreciated.
