I have a wsus gpo in place applied to an OU contaning 8 servers, only 4 of the servers are visible in the computer group in WSUS. I have checked and there isn't another policy preventing this.

any ideas?

Did you check the Unassigned group ?

What version of WSUS are you running ?

A couple reasons can cause this.

Clients will not appear until about 20 hours after there are updates waiting for them. I dont' know why this is so.

It could also be what port they are on. Some folks create the GPO to guide the clients to the default port, port 80. Others put WSUS on another port, other than port 80. You can see information on this by google searching for port 8530 as an alternative port for WSUS.

Clients also need to be at a certain level before they start receiving updates. XP needs service pack 2, and 2000 pro needs to be service pack 4 before getting updates from WSUS.

I have checked the unassigned group and the server is not there, also i have done a search in wsus for the particular server aswell and i can't find the server.
I am running WSUS v3.

It been over 20 hours and the server hasn't appeared in wsus computer group.
WSUS has been setup on the default port and the strange thing is in the OU contaning 8 servers, only 4 of the servers are visible in the computer group in WSUS.
