Exchange server 2007 unable to see netowork or ping dc.

Hello EE,

Our exchange server (Exchange 2007 64bit) cannot currenty ping the DC or see the network. It can ping other server as well as all the server (including the DC) can ping it. This is becoming a huge issue for us and as of now we cannot find a solution.

The Exchange server is part of the domain and it working correctly excepy for not pinging the DC (it does resolve the ip from the name) and not seeing the network.

Thanks IA.

Is there a router/firewall between the Exchange server and the other servers?  Can the clients on the domain send and receive email? Is NetBIOS over TCP/IP enabled in the properties of the NIC on the Exchange server?

Hi,
I have the same problem.
Exchange 2007 and all other servers and computers are in the same subnet. No firewall betwen them.
I have a single server Exchange 2007 implementation.
Thanks,
Hi
Any1 found a solution to this?? Having the exact same problem - servers on same subnet, no firewall between. Clients on same subnet as well.
Ok, heres a thought
I have two identical servers HP DL380G5 running Win 2003 x64 and 32. Between them a HP 2800g switch and on the outside a Cisco ASA 5505 connect directly to the HP box.
Up till now I havent been able to ping the Exchange server more than one time and the lost "signal", with the result of 75% packet los.
Now, my thought is that it can have something to do with protocol mismatch between the HP and Cisco box. Cos after moveing the Exchange server directly into the Cisco box, I'm able to make a continuas ping (-t)........
My problem was solved.
I was having problem with the new Symantec EndPoint Protection. I installed one of its function called Network Threat Protection, which by default blocks almost everything.
I ended up uninstalling the Network Threat Protection, and it worked fine.

Note: the first release version of Symantec End Point Protection (SEP) has some bugs that cause  Mapped Network Drive to disconnect. This bug was corrected on the version SEP MR1.
