Mail setup

Need to setup a mail gateway to send email to another network.

Considering:
LAN (Exchnage 2007)  - Firewall <smtp relay\content filtering> - Firewall - External. Look right?

Want my internal email to be translated to a different alias when sent externally and vice versa when coming back in. Should this happen at the SMTP relay or exchnage box? Whats the best method?

Would the SMTP relay be the firewall..just forward on smtp? Or a specilaist device. Thinking of mailsweeper for content filtering.

I see cyberguard firewall acts as an smtp proxy, how is this different from a smtp relay?

Any advice grateful. Thanks.
