Hi
ooking for some initial guideance here.

The task: Client provides music technology lessons in schools - has around 300 pupiils in 10 schools at present. At the end of each term the supplied music tech teacher needs to submit the terms  'tracks' to the companies online 'jukebox' for parents to hear.

I have started by creating a database with 'schools' 'bands (pupils use bandname not personal name for security) 'Term' and 'Track' tables.

I will be using aspupload to upload the MP3 files to the server, and will store the filename in the 'Tracks' table which relates to he band ID.

So, I would like to have a popup window on the site which goes through the selection process school -  term - band - and then the track plays through the embedded SWF player.

I tend to use SwishMax rather than flash - but  have Flash available if needed.

My thought is to have the code in th eplayer use a variable as the track name to play (although not sure how to do this yet). But have also been coming across a lot of references to using XML to supply the track info (I will need to display the band name and name of track but plan to use dynamic text from the recordset based on selection.

Can flash import dynamic data? I could then have the selection menus in te flash movie itself. Would this info come from an XML file? and can xml files be updated as another techer loads up up another track to the database?

I may be making this overly complex - hence the question.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thank you

Dave
