Metz Phone Pro is a contact database software that is no longer available.  There is no support available and I am having trouble with it.  I am getting an error as the following:

5802 -1: State:IM006,Native:0,Origin:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager]
Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed

Can anyone try to explain this to me, if possible?

Roger,
I have never used the application you mentioned, however, I was able to receive some info:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed

In most cases, this error message is purely informational, and does not indicate that anything terrible has happened while connecting to the database. To avoid the error, you can use on error resume next, and then check each error in the conn.errors collection -- if any number is 0, it can be ignored.

Now, with that being said, 80004005 means "Access Denied", so my question is, does the application work at all? Can you check your ODBC connection and hit "test connection" to see if it works with the current username and password stored in the ODBC connection? Was the password changed for that particular user accound that runs the ODBC connection?
Let me know if that helps.  Also, please read the following:

Hey Paul,

Thanks for the response. I will try the testing connection in a moment, however, what troubles me with this permission setting, is that nothing at all has been changed and if you don't log on as an administrator then you can't access the DB.  Any thoughts on that?  I will check the permission settings now.  Thanks!
