Hiya Experts,

I'm writing a vb.net 2005 console app. The purpose of the app is to back up my files to a network drive.
My question is: How can I, 1) test if a file has been locked by another process. 2) lock the file while processing.

Thanks all,

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

1. I wanted to find something where i wouldnt have to fall back on an exception. Something like -IO.IsFileLocked("myfile.txt") - would have been good!

2. Exactly what I'm looking for, thanks.
