Vista is slow accessing network shares

I have about 60 PCs on an Active Directory Network.  Two of the PCs are Windows Vista Business and the rest are all Win XP Pro.  I just recently replaced an old Linux Samba file server with a new Windows 2003 file server.  The XP machines are accessing the shares on the Windows 2003 server just fine, but the Vista machines really hang when opening a share, opening any file within the share or just to list the contents of the share.

Any settings in Vista or on the 2003 server that might cause these hangups?  I have disabled the share from allowing files offline and have also disabled Remote Differential Compression on the Vista machines and it doesn't seem to help.

I will try to disable IPv6 and see what that does.  I do not do POP email with this machine.  It connects to our local mail server with seemingly no hangup, though the mail server is running SuSE Linux and not Windows.

It is interesting as accessing shares on a Linux box seem to be no problem, just accessing other Windows shares seem to hang.

I'll try the command out.  Thanks.
hey, that was in my post too :)
Yes it is.......I totally read right over that.  I haven't had a chance to try any of these options yet, I'll let you know when I do.

Thanks again.
