Hi Everyone,

I am new to SQL Anywhere 9 and could really do with some help with replication.

I have successfully managed to setup replication via FTP. However, dbremote on one of the servers keeps crashing and gives the following message in the event log:

ASA Sync/Rep: E. 12/11 12:49:34. SQL statement failed: (-181) No indicator variable provided for NULL result.

This message is logged a few times in quick succession and then I get the following:

Faulting application dbremote.exe, version 9.0.2.3456, faulting module dbtool9.dll, version 9.0.2.3456, fault address 0x0000a7fc.

Finally the following message occurs in the log:

ASA Sync/Rep: E. 12/11 12:54:19. No remote users defined

When I then look at the database the SQL Remote User I had defined for the replication has gone.

I think the first message is the underlying cause of all of this, but I am not sure.

If anybody could offer any advice I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks,

Michael.

Double check that the NULL/NOT NULL specifications are the same for all the fields in the tables on both ends.  Off the top of my head, it sounds as if you are passing NULL values to a field that does not expect them or vice versa.

Thanks for your response grant300.

The replciated database was extracted from the original, so they should be identical in structure.

Also, I have already looked through them all to check this.
