Mirroring/Replicating Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2003.

I will be configuring a new Exchange 2007 server. The client wishes to be able to have a remote backup on another site. As they currently have a valid licence for Windows Server 2003 and Exchange 2003 spare and available, would I be able to configure Exchange 2003 to replicate over a VPN from Exchange 2007?

you could set it up as a 2nd Email server, but it couldnt act as a replicator.

For instance..
Exchange 2007 mail goes to yourcompany.com
set up Exchange 2007 with abc.yourcompany.com or another domain.

Somehow you could make a rule to replicate each email to the other site. This would be really messy, but you could do it.

Or, by using journaling, you could replicate all mail to one mailbox on the other server.

Very messy solutions. Just tell them to get more 2007 licenses. You can have 1 source and many target machines.
