Startup Form to startup Maximum

Why can't I grasp this. I'm sure it's easy. But . . . .

I have a form set to open at statup of Access 2003 database.  But I want it to open maiximized. It always opens in a window. Why?

Mixmangle,

Add the following code to the open event of your startup form:

Docmd.Maximize
Great minds think alike, but MX's thinks faster. :-)

Thanks.  I'll try tomorrow.  I know I am getting more and more into the coding . . .and that's a good thing.

But why wouldn't it be somewhere on the properties--.format tab as well?

"Open--Min.Max, window size"  or something like that.  I was thinking this as just being a basic format property I was missing.

I'm glad it's not in the property sheet, because in 15 year, I have never opened a form maximized. The plurality in Windows ... with an 's' has a meaning ... 'more than one'. Only in Access do people open forms/windows maximized.  No other professional application does this.

My Motto:  Just Say No To Maximizing ...

Thanks! That was it. Most of the databases I have are FE/BE with Andy Toews FEUpdater . . . which has a automaximize switch for the ini file.

I kept asking myselt, why haven;t I had to ask this question before.  That's why!
