AOL Webmail access delay

Last Modified: 2013-12-14
Running into an issue where user is trying to log into their AOL Webmail through IE7.  You can successfully log in the first time.  When you try to logout there's a delay and eventually the page times out, IE cannot display the web page.  I X out of the IE and log in again.  After I put in the AOL username and password, it will not log in.  There's a long delay.  I can see at the bottom right corner "waiting for https://my.screenname.aol.com.  The page eventually times out. It does this every time until  I have to \ clear the internet cache and Temp files before I'm able to log in again.  When you logout you get the same delay.  Problem is consistent on all problems on the network.  I even tried it with Firefox and Yahoo browser and still running into the same problem. There's something with accessing secure site.  I even tried running Adaware removal and uninstall Mcafee antivrus but no success.

If I access AOL webmail with the same account on another ISP there is no problem signing in or out. Could it be a problem on SBC end?  Worked with their tech and they stated there was no problem with my DSL line but an issue with AOL.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Watch Question

I doubt it would be an ISP problem, if it was they would have had millions of calls already and they would fix it just to get their call volume down.

Do you have a proxy server, maybe something keyword watching to make sure workstations arent playing around on the net?  I know a lot of small businesses are doing this now.

Also do you have to login securely?  Is there a non-secure login you can use?  I mean if you dont really use the email for anything top secret anyway.

Are you able to use other secure sights?  Or does this happen with all of them?
