Hi Everyone;

          I heard a technician from AT&T one day describe sets of numbers within an IP address for network devices in terms of "octets" which brings me to the purpose of this post.  Exactly, what are octets within the realms of IP addresses?

           Any followup thoughts or feedback to this question will be appreciated.

           Thank you.
