cf8 & cfdocument weirdness

I've just installed CF8 for final testing before roll out and all my report layouts are trashed and I'm seeing some really weird behaviour.

Can someone with 8 installed try this

<cfdocument format="pdf" pagetype="letter">
<div style="width:6in;height:6in;border:1px solid;">
      TEXT HERE
</div>
</cfdocument>

I'm showing a box with about a 3 inch right hand margin

when I change the width to 8 inches

<cfdocument format="pdf" pagetype="letter">
<div style="width:8in;height:6in;border:1px solid;">
      TEXT HERE
</div>
</cfdocument>

I get the same right margin and a smaller box and the text is rescaled down...

i did a

 <cfdocument format="pdf" pagetype="letter">
<div style="width:20in;height:6in;border:1px solid;">
      TEXT HERE
</div>
</cfdocument>

I get the same 3 in margin, a tiny box and unreadable text...

I also tried
<span style="width:7in;height:6in;border:1px solid;display:block;">

same thing...

i've also explicitly set the margins to .25 in
i've also used px instead of inc

the only thing I can get to work is width:100% which is fine for a basic box but I have a bunch of reports with numerous boxes that I'll have to completely redesign.

is it just me???  Am I doing something stupid ?

            <div style="border:1px solid;">
            TEXT HERE
            </div>
       </cfdocumentsection>
</cfdocument>

  <div style="border:1px solid;">
      <div style="border:1px solid;width:7in;">
            TEXT HERE
                  </div>
            </div>
  </cfdocumentsection>

</cfdocument>

Not to sound stupid but the margins look ok to me.  The inner div is smaller, but that's just because of the 7" width part.

ok...thought for today...

check for hotfixes before asking questions....

CF8 HF1 http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb402466&sliceId=1

seems to mostly fix it...

thx for your input agx anyways

prehotfix the inner div had the same 3" right hand margin

lol.  Yes, you're right.   I changed it to 8" and its still the same size.  I should have actually measured it ;-) Well glad you figured it out.

interesting thing is that the HF docs don't mention anything thing about this "feature" ...just an issue about tables being  rendered smaller than normal...

oh well

Yes, nobody likes to talk about the "features".  A 3" margin, only on one side,  is a bit odd though.
