Drop down autofill and week ending dates

I have two drop down boxes.  The first box is the date type (Year, Month, Week) and the second should fill based on the first.  Been a long time since I've had to work with javascript so no sure what the best way to switch between them is now.  Don't want to have to reload the screen to fill the drop down box.

Also, for the Week date type I only want to fill the drop down with the weekending dates (Saturday).  Using last week as an example the date in the drop down would be 12/15/2007 and for this week it would be 12/22/2007.  What would be the best and fastest way to figure out all of the week ending dates starting from January 1st of this year and populate my drop down with them when Week is selected?
