Exchange Public Folder Attachment 10MB  Limit

We have an Exchange 2003 Enterprise server that is not allowing users to save emails w/attachments into Public Folders over 10MB. The users get a "Access Denied" error if they are on Outlook 2000 and a "Cannot move the Items. Could not complete the move. The items may have been already moved or deleted." error in Office 2007.

We have checked the store limits at every level of Exchange we can see and none are set.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you checked this setting on the actual public folder?

Yes, that location has been checked for size limitations. I have checked the actual public folder, as well as all of the preceding containers in that tree, and no limitations are set anywhere as far as size goes.

Found your question while experiencing the same problem - The following was the answer in my case.

From: www.petri.co.il/new_security_features_in_exchange_2003.htm

Public Folder maximum message size set to 10 megabytes (per Public Folder store)
On every Exchange 2003 server installation, reinstall or upgrade, the maximum item size for Public Folder postings will be set to 10240KB (10MB) if the value is not already set, and preserved if it is. This setting also affects new Public Folder stores (MAPI and Application) created through ESM. This actual setting is held on the messageSizeLimit attribute on each Public Folder Store object in the Active Directory.

We've traversed the entire tree for limits on all Public Folders and all of them are turned off. I suspect that there is something more devious going on here - perhaps a registry setting or a bug?
