"Server" service missing

I have an XP PC where the "Server" service is not only NOT STARTING, it is missing completely. How can I restore this without an OS reinstall?

The registry hack submitted by YGregersen did create the "Server" service, but it would not start. It was only after installing "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" (suggested by sramensh2k and jonathen), that it was fixed. Thanks...
