Line break in VB code

I'm trying to make a line break in my text using VB code using "vbCrLf". But the problem is that it inserts a blank line inbetween lines of text, instead of what i want it to do, which is to just start the next line of text on the next line, instead of skipping a line. Here is my code:

DFDoc2.FDFSetValue("FillText41", Val33 & vbCrLf & Val34 & vbCrLf & Val35 & ", " & Val36 & " " & Val37 & vbCrLf & Val38 & "", False, True)
