sounds like a bad hard drive - did you try a System Restore?

ASKER

yes i already did, and like i mentioned, i even format the HDD and REINSTALL a new copy of VIsta.
Was Windows XP installed on the HDD at any point?

While these two articles are intended for XP, some of the troubleshooting steps will be applicable regardless of OS:

How do I Repair A Stop: c0000218 {Registry File Failure} The registry Cannot Load The Hive (File): \SystemRoot\System32\Config\Software Error

Yes before i have two partition from on HD, on for XP and one for Vista. and at this time i never got this problem.
after i format all the Hard Disk and make one partition and install a OEM vista.
after few week, i start to get this problem, like i mention up, i have repair it from the cd, i even restore it and the problem was not solved, then, i install again a new copy of same windows and here i go the problem is still there.
the 2 link u mentioned me, they r only for XP and they leave a following note:
''You should not use the method two set of instructions below if your system has an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) copy of Windows''

so u want i reinstall a third time my windows, i have many programme in. and maybe the windows activation key will not work, because i already used it for 2 time.
before installing vista, i already clean the hard drive. Even if the problem come from xp that was there before, then i should get the problem in first days when i install vista.
but i got the problem after few week, and i use my pc everyday, around 5 to 10hours.
Did you notice the problem after you had installed any new software or hardware?
no, this problem come suddenly, and it happen since few week.
any clue?
The other options I've come across suggest removing two sticks of your RAM to see if the problem goes away. That suggests to me a memory issue, but doesn't make much sense that it would come on suddenly without anything else changing. Do you have the latest BIOS update installed for the ASUS P5B-VM-DO motherboard?
yes of course,
everything is up to date. bios include,
like i mentioned, it doesn't happen everytime i boot pc, sometime it can boot without any problem.
if i remove 2 stick memory and it boot correctly, then i cant know if the problem come from memory,
it happend around after 2 week after buying 4 new memory sticks. if the problem was  from memory, then it should happen in first week when i installed these new 4 stick.
Possibly. It may not have to do with the memory being bad, but with the system not being able to handle so many sticks of RAM. Worth a shot.
but mine 4 stick r from same compagnie and same size, my board accept 8G and i have add 4stick of 4 gig each have same frequensy,
if the problem is with memory, then it should say something different or should not boot at all.
but here the problem is with hive file of registry.
Solution??
i get this message while using DBAN,
''DBAN finished with non-fatal errors.
This is usually caused by disks with bad sectors.
Send the log file with all support requests.''
