Weird NetBEUI Error from System control Manager.... ?
Hi Experts,
This error pops up every time the computer is restarted. Latest version of windows XP SP2 fully patched.
I don't even have the netbeui protocol installed, just TCP/IP.
here's the error:

The NetBEUI Protocol service failed to start due to the following error:

I already have windows installed though, i'm not gonna reinstall the OS, how can I make this modification from within windows?

Do you have NetBios over TCPIP enabled in your Local Area Connections>Properties>TCP IP Properties>Advanced>Wins Tab?

NetBeui Stands for NetBios Extended User Interface, so I can see where he was going.

Plus, I was assuming it wasnt installed, so wasnt expecting to see that reg key, which is why I went with this one....

Disabling NetBeui bindings
To disable NetBeui on a specific adapter, use the following binding path: [NetBindings]
Disable = "MS_Server MS_NetBeui AdapterX"
Disable = "MS_MSClient MS_NetBeui AdapterX"
