Exchange 2003 IMAP4SVC Error rendering message
I've seen a lot of posts about this error, some refering to POP, some refering to IMAP. I've excluded all the Exchange directories for Virus Scan. I'm assuming it's a bad message, but we have mulitple users getting this error, a few every second. How do I locate the message? These users have massive mailboxes and we are not sure when the error started. I've tried locating the message using the "0001-000000f1c3d9" as the message ID, but Message Tracking Center cannot find anything.

Hi Brent,
I've heard a lot of people say that it is caused by a corrupt mail message, "message 0001-000000f1c3d9" as the error states. Any idea how I can locate that message in the user's mailbox? I tried the message tracking center, but that is definately not the message ID, so I'm lost on how to find it.

I was able to locate the cause of the error. There was an Outlook Meeting Request that was sent out to all of our users. Users running IMAP email clients were generating this error. I was able to remove this email from all of the affect mailboxes and have cleared up the errors.
How did you find which particular email it was?

The only way I could isolate the problem email was to clone one of the affected mailboxes and delete emails till the error stopped. I was able to locate the email and removed it from all of the IMAP users.
I had this error as-well. Logged into webmail and found the corrupted e-mail message which was a meeting request sent to all employees.

Thanks!
