Hello moayad25,

Adding to what Delphineous said, if you have forgotten your password, or your password is not working for some reason, you can easily get a new one. You'll need your exact Yahoo! ID and the birthday you provided when you registered for the account. Fill out the new Password Request Form and a new password will be assigned to you.

Hope this helps!

Protected Storage PassView v1.63: Recover Protected Storage passwords
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/pspv.html

If it is stored in IE on one of the computers, this will find it....
johnb6767 even after format??
i still have the problem
"johnb6767 even after format??"

No.....

You can try undelete software to try and recover the ntuser.dat from your old profile folder, but I doubt it will work....

These are a few good recovery apps. Just pull this other drive out, and slave it to an available machine, and let the scans run... Most apps you can scan for free, and purchase the license if it is successfull. I find the Paid apps are more reliable....

Your version of IE7 doesnt have any bearing to the reg hive recovery, using the Undelete software.....

Thats the only way you will have ANY chance of recovery of the PSW, if you find the ntuser.dat PRIOR to the reformat.

Otherwise, youll need to contact Yahoo....
i installed easy file recovery but there is no .dat file extensions to search for!
how to search for ntuser.dat  file??
Just search for *.* then....
As to recovering information from a re-formatted drive, installing additional applications installed in the process of trying to recover that information, can overwrite the very data for which you're looking, making your search a moot point. If you need data recovery, it is best to run an appropriate application from different media, such as a USB flash drive or CD-ROM drive rather than installing it to the drive where the data was lost.
Both Delphineous and war1 said that you cannot retrieve your password from registry if you have reformated the hard drive.  "No" is an acceptable answer.
dear i want a solution i was not asking if it is possible or not..

i asked for way to retrieve the password, review the question , it is give me a way

thank you

@moayad25,

I object to your requested deletion. What you are asking is that we give you a way to do the impossible.  I recommend that a moderator review this question and that points be awarded to Delphineous, war1, and johnb6767.
Technically, Proessional Data recovery  could possibly retrieve the CU reg hive, and the PSWD could be retrieved, so technically it isnt a "No".

It is a "Possible, but is it really worth the cost" answer.....

No obj by me....
In IE7, passwords are no longer stored in Protected Storage. So I don't know where you can find the passwords even if you could recover the reg hive.
Last time I ran that app against IE7, it worked fine.....
My mistake....

IE PassView
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/internet_explorer_password.html

Still stored in the registry, and in the local profile......My statement still stands....
johnb6767,

IE7 stores the password in another reg location and is encrypted.  A later version of Passview can find the password only if the History file for the respective website is also present.  If you scroll down the Passview link that you posted, you will find a link to the later version.
I wasnt trying to view the latest version, I am aware of it. Just making a point that this is still not a "No, it is impossible" answer...

If the user gets the whole profile back, then the IE History is present, as well as the reg location and the profile path....

Johnb6767,

Have you been able to get the whole reg hive back from Professional Data Recovery, and use it to recover the passwords?  I have never heard of anyone doing so.
I have had entire profiles restored from professional services....several gigs of data in alot of cases....

But it isnt cheap...$1500-$2000 bux, which I dont think is relaistic for a Yahoo password....
Those services can not recover data that has been over-written.  This isn't a failed drive where the bits can be pulled from the platter; this is reformatted and rebuilt partition.
I am not going to argue with you, I know what I have had done. I will leave this for the mods to decide upon.....

I dont understand why you are so dead set upon getting this request denied.....

"It can't be done is still a valid answer"

No can be a valid answer, but it is not IMPOSSIBLE...

Anyway, it is over now....
