asked on

how do i rename 'bluetooth devices' in mac osx?

i am trying to rename my motorola bluetooth headset HS850 to some other name that would help me easily identify it given that i have another one of the same exact model but different color. i would like to call it 'black headset', etc.

i can't do that since the device i am connecting to my macbook is a bluetooth headset that has no way to edit its bluetooth name.

therefore, this change has to be done on the connecting device but there is no place or apparent way to do that.

that's unfortunate because the blackberry is more flexible. i can rename my headset on the list of bluetooth devices such as 'black motorola HS850' or otherwise. basically its a nickname for my device so i can distinguish them.

thanks though
