hi,
I just configure the Configuring Windows Server 2008 Server Core Basic server on vm ware machine and i try confiugre the network using petri website instructions but recivng the error. kindly help.

Hi!

Your interface is not "Local Area Connection", try this:


netsh interface ipv4 set address name="Loopback pseudo-interface 1" source=static address=192.168.5.1.mask=255.255.255.0

Or you should add network interface to virtual machine so that "Local area connection" actually shows up on list of interfaces, because it won't help you much to configure loopback adapter. ;)
