After installation of the VPN client, and reboot, I am unable to start the service; Error 1075 pops if I try starting the service from the services control.

I cannot start the Check Point VPN-1 Securemote service (SR_service), error 1075 appears.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Was this the first time you've installed a checkpoint product on this machine or was there a previous version on it before?
0
gabiffAuthor Commented:
This is the first checkpoint product installed on this machine.

stuknhawaiiCommented:
Ok, what is the full product name/version that was installed? Also is there an updated version available?
And, if you go into the services on the machine, what is the FW1 service "startup type" set to? and what dependancies are listed under the dependancies tab (basically we need to check all the dependancies to make sure those services "startup type" are set to automatic)

I opened the control panel, and tried double clicking Windows firewall; I got the message :
"Windows firewall settings cannot be displayed because the associated service is not running. Do you want to start the Windows Firewall/Internet connection Sharing(ICS) service?"
I hit yes, but I got : "Windows cannot start the windows firewall/ICS service"

Solution ID sk33360 didn't help.
For some reason the FW1 service is missing, how do I bring it back?
0
stuknhawaiiCommented:
I would uninstall/reboot/re-install/reboot the vpn client software to see if that helps.
