Be sure the "MS SQL Server 2005 Configuration Tools are installed

You have connect using "SQL Server Managment Studio Express" to the named pipe:
      \\.\pipe\mssql$microsoft##ssee\sql\query.
            Select Windows Authentication
Connect to the database
Expand the databases node
Right click on SUSDB
      Select Tasks|Backup
      Select disk
Click Add and choose an appropriate filename to save a backup of the SUSDB
Right Click on SUSDB
      Select Tasks
            Detach
Tick the "Drop Connections" box and then click on OK
Right Click on the databases node and select attach
      Click the Add box
            <location of WSUS DB> <default = D:\WSUS\UpdateServicesDbFiles>
You might have to navigate to the folder that you chose to store WSUS data in at installation time.
            Click on SUSDB.mdf
            Click on OK
Click on OK again

SUSDB now is in its rightful place under the tree and now able to backup without error.  Please refer to this Microsoft technet article for further clarification:
