Who is Participating?
I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Can you connect to asterisk (asterisk -r -vvv) and post what is displayed when you try to make the call.

Can you post the full log. Without seeing the flow through the dialplan it is almost impossible to work out what is being called.

feptiasChief DudeCommented:
The simple answer to your question is that your sip.conf file makes reference to a context called "sip" but your extensions.conf does not contain a context called "sip". Therefore, when a SIP call arrives, Asterisk looks for the context called "sip" and cannot find it.

(I am guessing a bit here because you did not post a copy of sip.conf, but it is very likely this is your problem).

By the way, how did that extensions.conf file get generated? - it's a nightmare.
0
grbladesCommented:
I agree with feptias and that is probably what is happening.

What you posted is not the asterisk output. You need to connect to asterisk by typing 'asterisk -r -vvv' from the linux command line.

What phones are you using?
Analogue phones connected to a telephone card, SIP phone, IAX phone or some other voip protocol?
If you could post the appropiate config file for whatever you are connecting from that would help.

Netlink2Author Commented:
I'm using X-lite SIP phones. I have a card but I'm not using it.

I was using asterisk -r vvv when I posted the output.

I've posted the sip.conf file.

The files were created by vicidialnow.

That is the line in sip.conf that defines which context should be used. However, the context is not defined in extensions.conf. The problem therefore seems to be within vicidialnow which has not generated compatible conf files.

It might work if you changed that line to:
context = default

However, in my opinion, the conf files generated by vicidialnow look incredibly amateurish and suggest to me that the author of vicidialnow has little understanding of Asterisk. I recommend you look for a better product.

I just had the exact problem as the author only it was caused by trixbox pro, and found that compared to a backup /etc/asterisk directory there was an additional and empty internal.conf file in the asterisk/fonality directory.  By making a copy of asterisk/internal.conf into asterisk/fonality/internal.conf and a "reload" everything was back to functional.
