Hardware Problems with my Acer Aspire 3000

rmnp0829 asked
I have been having hardware problemswith my laptop for awhile.  I updated all drivers and the latest BIOS.  After about 5 or 10 minutes of turning my laptop on the keyboard just stops working. I then reboot and everything is fine.  The touchpad went out about 1 month after I got.  The laptop is about 2.5 years old.

when you say "I then reboot and everything is fine" does that mean for good or just for another 10 minutes? If it freezes every time after 5-10 minutes, you may have a heat problem. Raise it up to give some airflow underneath, then point a fan at the laptop and see if it lasts longer than before when you boot it up. Whether you can replace the cooling fan in the laptop depends on the laptop. You might also try plugging in an external usb or ps/2 keyboard, see if that helps.

I am going to try a new battery.  I did a BIOS upgrade and factory default reimage and it worked for a while, but then it crashed again.
