external contacts that are tied to a distrobution list are not recieving mail

need help fast, going live tomorrow....!

I have created several contacts in ADUC and then added them to distribution lists within Exchange 2007.  They are not receiving this mail.  I have found several sites stating that when I create the user I must specify the external SMTP address somewhere within the wizard that pops up.  I am not getting to this point.. all i can do is set there name and display name.  After creating them, I can click properties and specify there email however they are still not recieving this.... What am i missing?

In ADCU right click the username and choose exchange tasks, there choose establish an email address and enter their external email addresses, then your list will be working fine. This is called creating mail enables objects and not mailbox enabled objects.
Hope it helps.
When  you enter their external email address fron the list choose smtp address.I'll repeat the procedure.
ADCU-->right click the username-->exchange tasks-->next-->establish email address-->Modify-->smtp address-->Ok--> enter the address-->ok

i never have the option that you are talking about... when right clicking in ADUC on DC there is no option for exchange tasks....am i in the wrong spot
i mean in the DC on the contact
Yep. Launch active directory users and computers, locate the external contacts that you created by entering their names and addresses, right click and choose exchange tasks. You will have to do this one by one for all the contacts on the lisr.
dang there is no exchange tasks at all.... guess im calling microsoft
You do tis on your exchange server directly, not your DC
ADCU-->right click the username-->exchange tasks-->next-->establish email address-->Modify-->smtp address-->Ok--> enter the address-->ok
