How to make anchor tag appear alongside table, and not under it?

Hi
I have a <table> element. I want some text to appear next to it, and not under it? How do I do this?

You mean you want an anchor tag to be next to text instead of being underneath it?

Sorry, title and question don't match.

I just want to have text appear in line with a table I have, and not under it. I guess this is because a table is a block element. Can I get around this somehow?

You could do something like this:

<table>
<tr><td valign='top'>your text here</td><td valign='top'>

<table>
<tr><td>your existing table here</td></tr>
</table>

</td></tr>
</table>
