URGENT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I deleted the pub1.edb and pub1.stm files on my exch serv 2003 so that It could build a new database.
Now my mailbox store willl not open.... I did a eseutil /mh "C:\program files\exchsrvr\mdbdata\pri v1.edb"
It idicates that I have a dirty shutdown what do I do??????????

Both pub1.edb and priv1.edb are needed, one handles the public folders and other handles mailboxes. Repairing priv1 wont help if pub1 is still missing. Try putting pub1.edb back, deleting everything in the public folders (if you want it empty) and have eseutil do a defrag on it to get the size down.

is anybody out there that may have a solution this is so urgent....

The MS article here says that this message is caused by low disk space.

Also, did you check that HD had sufficient disk space during the Defrag?
