Can't manage users from other domain in forest, but could in 2000

Here's the layout.

3 domains in forest...root.private, domain1.com, domain2.com
Obviously, root.private is the top of the forest.

Formerly exchange 2000 is installed in domain1.com and could manage users from domain1 and domain2.

during migration to Exchange 2007 SP1, we notice that none of the domain2 accounts or mailboxes show up in EMC.

I'm thinking this is some small step I missed or need to install a widget, but can't find any good answers on google with my searches.

Thanks.

When you migrated to 2007 did you follow all the proper proceadure and prep all 3 domains?  My guess is you only did a domain prep on one domain.  Check on that and let me know

I did do it...or at least I thought I did?!  How would I check that would be meaningful for you?

I also was thinking the same thing and just ran preparelegacy against domain2 as well as prepare domain and specified the domain as well as a valid 2k3 sp2 server (domain2 unfortunately contains some 2000 DCs that can't be demoted right now).

So, yes, how would I check that further?
Also, for further detail, in EMC, Recipient Config, mailbox, is where I can only see mailboxes for domain1 and nothing for domain2.

Where were domain2's email housed before?  was it on an older exchange server or was it on the machine that you just brought in with 2k7?
ntrlsur: Domain2 and Domain1 were all on the single Exchange 2000 server also in domain1.
yeah...I'm an idiot.  just haven't gotten used to the new interface yet.  Thanks.
