indexing service on Windows xp - "one or more indexing service query parameters are incorrect"

I have enabled the indexing service on Windows xp, yet when I want to perform a normal windows  search on the my documents folder , I get the message :

" "one or more indexing service query parameters are incorrect"

Bit weird this as didn't really set  any parameters.

Please advise

Check to see if the Indexing Service is started.

Go to Start - Run and past the following command then press enter.

cmd /k net start

Sorry for the delay, not being 100%
All  is fine now, very weird as put this command in,  - showed index  service was running, as previously, but then able to perform searches when couldn't before.

Its as though this command enabled indexing and set defaults or something.
What does the /K switch do please

Thanks Again

""" one or more indexing service quarry parameters are incorrect."""
