Changing a Content Management System

I have a potential customer that is looking to change their content management system.  I'm not even sure which questions to ask.  Can anyone give me a list of things to consider when changing a Content Management syste?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

first ask the cusomter hwhy they want to change - then use te answers to find a good CMS plus these:

1) ongoing costs  (monthly, what about updates)
2) training
3) system requirements needed to support the CMS  - does it work on MACs and PCS
4) ability to go back to previous edits
