is it possible to put a password on the master/replica databases?

I don't see why not. I'm wondering that if you put one on the Master, it would be replicated to the Replicas.  Or, maybe the pwd is completely independent.

i tried to do that on access 2000 but i cannot convert it to design master if it has a password. i removed the password. but after it was made replicable, the set password option was unavailable for the design master and replicas. i have not tried it in code yet, i want to make sure that it is possible first..

if it is not possible, can you recommend on a workaroud? only the master database will be modified. replicas will be just for viewing purposes.

thanks

I don't have a workaround, unless User Level Security would work in a Replication scenario.
