Just created new Primary Partition on RAID 1 (by mistake), how can I delete it and create an Extended Partition instead?

I am running WIndows Server 2003 and using Computer Management >> Disk Management.

By mistake, I created a Primary Partition on RAID1 (I meant to create an Extended Partition).  I then deleted the Primary Partition and now it will only allow me to create another Primary Partition.  How can I create an Extended Partition from this?

Is it a software RAID or hardware RAID?
