"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,

A public folder is exactly what it sounds like - a folder that is available to multiple users. A mailbox is a storage area made up of a number of folders that is normally designed for use by a single user. It contains a number of features such as Inbox, Calendar, Out of office messages, etc.

Also:
-Public folders can be replicated to all exchange server in the organization
-Public folders can not be housed in the same database as Mailboxes
-Items that are deleted from Public Folders do NOT go through the recycle bin ("deleted items" folder)

Although I don't think this question deserves a place in the database I don't see why they should recieve their points back. Lack of response from the question asker. I responded within 30 minutes and no response.
